This Happened On The Way To An Affordable Workshop

I know this has happened to you, because it’s happened to me, numerous times.

I was thrilled to come across a workshop that was being offered online. The interest momentum was growing through early Ads on Facebook, live streams from the presenter, A lot of excitement was growing and I was drooling at the mouth – I couldn’t wait for it.

I can’t say what the workshop was, that would be unprofessional of me. But I can say, when it was time to register for it my heart sank. Because it was just another workshop charging hundreds of dollars to participate in. And I mean, hundreds into the thousands.

Your Course with Lesly

I got really annoyed.

It was a damn good workshop too, yet totally financially unavailable to me. So I got to thinking about this.

There are so many people, perhaps even you, where this has happened. You get excited about an online workshop and just when you think you’ll go for it… you see the price and you just can’t manage it financially.

Then the guilt trips come ” Well if you really want it you’ll find a way to pay for it…” type  mental manipulation. Then you feel guilty. Then you question yourself where you could actually get the money, borrow, loan .. oh it’s just ridiculous to imagine this situation.

I know there are hundreds of people who want to better themselves through training, coaching, and have the opportunity to expand their lives and become more financially secure. The internet can provide income opportunities but education is the key.

But where can you get it ?

The “Guru’s” that offer these great programs have to charge thousands. Why, because they have reached a point in their lives where the lifestyles they’ve created for themselves costs a fortune. They’ve also been building their expertise for years. They started out many years ago and have learned from “Guru’s” popular in their day when they were struggling to make a buck.

They attract the people who have and don’t have the finances to enroll in these great workshops. And that’s okay. But what about those who are, what I like to call “Graying Entrepreneurs” who have incredible drive and interest to make money online, to create products, to blog, and so much more, and struggle because they can’t always afford expensive workshops.

I’m for the people who WANT to learn the skills and have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge without worrying about the cost of enrolling.

So, You know who Robin Hood is .. a character who “Robbed the rich to give to the poor”, yes? I’m not saying I’m doing this but you intermediately understand the message.

I offer what I call “Robin Hood Mentoring”….

I charge $50.00/month – that’s it. So if anyone,  (maybe you) is on Social Security, a college student, on a limited budget – whatever your financial situation this program could be for you.

If you have $50.00/month  free to invest in yourself and not rob a bank to do so, then my mentoring program can inspire you and motivate you to take action, develop skills, build confidence, and just be amazed at what you can do online.

I’ve been on the internet since 1998. I’ve learned a lot, taught myself a lot of things and can share it with you. I know the #1 challenge is actually doing the work that’s required to change your life. I can assist you in overcoming obstacles.

What will $50.00/month give you?

  • Free consultation
  • Weekly hangouts
  • Emails
  • Support and guidance
  • Structured to meet your goals

Sound to good to be true? Yep, I’m reading this and thinking – am I nuts to offer this? No. I want to see people succeed online. BUT it all starts within you. Most people need someone to bounce ideas, brainstorm, support, and honor their dreams without judgement.

If this interests you, fill out the application and I’ll get back to you.

So. What do YOU think …. I look forward to hearing from you.

As you know, I absolutely agree with the disappointment of reading about a great workshop, course, or resource – only to find it’s totally out of reach for me financially.

So appreciate all you do for others and the valuable offerings you have!

Hi Lesly. I could write a book on this. I can’t even estimate how much money I have spent on ‘products’. My computer is stuffed. After awhile it became almost like a gambling addiction. “If I just get this product, it will have the magic wand to open the money faucet.

Now I don’t buy anything, and I’ve just about stopped signing up for webinars because they are always a pitch for a product. I’m finished with gurus, because you know what? They are all saying pretty much the same thing.

Your $50 coaching idea is great. I hope you have lots of success.

  7. Hey Monna,
So great to see you visiting! Yea, we’ve talked about this MANY times and I still honor those conversations – implementing a program now. Hope all is well with you !!.

  8. Hi Lesly,
Kudos to you. Of course we’ve talked about this many times and I am so happy to see that you moved forward and are offering such value to those who cannot afford the high ticket prices.

You will do an excellent job. 🙂

  9. Hi Ruth,
Thank you for visiting, I appreciate it! Yea, just tired of seeing people wanting to get ahead and can’t because of financial restrictions. We all start somewhere! Right? Come back and visit soon … 🙂

I don’t even sign up for free trainings anymore for exactly that reason. I have one or two people I follow and know I’m getting what’s advertised, and that’s it. I love your concept of “Robin Hood Mentoring”. You are very generous!

    Hi Lesly

You know you read my mind. I have been there too and it is sometimes sad so I commend you for such a service. Thanks for sharing. Take Care

  12. Well you already know what I think since I enroll over and over again. The “Do It Workshops” plus various other offerings of yours have terrific value and I highly recommend them.

    Hey Lesly,
I’ve been there too so many times, there will be always limitations, and the entrepreneur challenge is to overcome these limitations, not easy, but not impossible too.

With your generous offer you made it much easier for these who need a mentor program, and you are the best to guide them.

    All the best!

  14. Hi Lesly,

Your argument that education is an essential element for success is accurate. And there’s no doubt that the monetary investments can become dear.

However, I’ve found the higher priced training is tailored for people who have already achieved enough success to afford advanced training. Not always, but usually.

Advanced training is a waste of money for beginners who are still learning basic business principles.

On the other hand, it’s a long road trying to learn online marketing from free sources.

As already mentioned by the above commenters, free training is mostly used as a lead magnet. Nothing wrong with that…especially if you’re the magnet.

Your mentorship offer @ 50 monthly, is a reasonable price for the privilege to work with someone who has 18 years of online marketing experience! You go Girl!

  15. Hi Lesly, I agree , some countries have programs that are out of reach when converted to their local currency. Even Canadian to USD has become pretty pricey. You offer quite a lot for a reasonable cost. You have certainly helped me to spread my wings . I am certainly a person who wants to succeed online , but money is now an issue. The fact that some people think low cost means inferior information does not not apply to Robin Hood Marketing. Can not agree more with this coaching program. Great value! PS love the new theme!

  16. Adele Yuboco says:

I applaud you, Lesly, for giving a rate that’s not only affordable for people to benefit from your service both in the US and in other parts of the world as well. It’s so sad to think that those offering training and coaching to people at a relatively reasonable price in the US, but is nearly 50 times the amount they mention when they convert it to their local currency. What makes it sadder is that they think it’s an exaggeration. The thing is, that’s a reality. At least here where I’m from. Here, a dollar now is already at almost 49 in our local currency.

  17. You are right again, Lesly. I have been there too. It often feels like a “bait and switch.”

They have lots of hype, get you excited, then it’s all just leading up to high priced upsells which may or may not be what you need. I think this is a good lesson. As you are planning your sales funnel, you have to decide how far you want to take it. What serves your target audience?

Of course, we have to leave room for our growth and progress. As we evolve, our sales funnel and offerings have to evolve. But, we always have to remember what serves our target audience.

I am a “middle of the road” kind of person. I like balance. I think it would be great to serve those on all levels by having useful products and services for all levels. Yes, that’s a dream, but it makes sense to me. Our target audience enters our funnel via different ways with different needs.

    Thank you for sharing!

  18. Hi Lydia,
I totally get what you mean and the different scenarios.. but we all start somewhere… the person who wants your service but doesn’t want to pay then goes somewhere else just wasn’t ready for you. Who knows what people think and what drives them to make their decisions. I know you feel this way – helping one person and seeing them spread their wings is worth it all .. always great to see you visiting .. thank you …

  19. Hi Ravi,
It all depends on ones situation. But I honestly believe having a place to begin, something that is affordable can make all the difference in one’s life.. wonderful to see you visiting, thank you!

  20. Hi Erica,
So wonderful to see you visiting, thank you .. I know this offer may sound crazy, and I really thought about it. But I know there are people out there that want to excel and need a place where they can begin. I welcome that… thank you for commenting

  21. Ravi Chahar says:

    Hey Lesly,

It may happen to anyone. When we read about something and visualize to attend that workshop and eventually end up with nothing.

It’s really annoying when the financial conditions stop us. People need to make all the plans before dreaming.

    Thanks for this informative post.

  22. Lydia Brown says:

Glad you offered clarity that there is nothing wrong with someone charging those high prices. I sometimes think some people think it is too much. We all along the way need to know our worth. What you are doing I think is great someone has to help those who really want to be successful but money is a real issue right now. The problem I have had is people sucking me dry when I offered free coaching so I too monetized my time but kept it affordable. I hope the people we do this for do the same for others. I believe in dig deep if you really want this. That is what I want a person to think about before they so quickly want to give up and say no I can’t afford that. Then I say to them if you can’t you can’t. I don’t like the tactic to make people feel guilty when they can’t buy something or make an investment. Balance is required there are too many who want something for nothing and will bleed you then run spend their money somewhere else. Also, there is the factor that some people think low cost means inferior information. The decisions we must make to help ourselves and others. Thanks for sharing

  23. Lesly,

You are offering a really valuable service – and it is affordable. What a concept!
Even taking care of my health has become so expensive. I just had 3 craniosacral sessions which I thought might help with some physical issues. But the practitioner had me lined up indefinitely, saving that appointment time for me once every week at $125/hour. That’s fine for 1 or 2 sessions but it adds up quickly.
It feels really good to provide value and not cause that anxiety that comes from overspending and under-receiving.

  24. Hello Lesly! Oh yeh been there done that my friend! Some people say there training is FREE Only to find out it is not only NOT FREE! But cost an arm and a leg.

You offer of $50 a month Rocks Girlfriend.
    Great Share, Congrats!
    Chery :))

  25. Hi Sue,
Oh.. how irritating .. I think it’s just gotten too crazy. So many more people could be helped if “they” were really interested in helping. They’re going for the money first. So annoying. Glad you like my price range .. love you

  26. Sue Bride says:

I’ve come across a couple of free webinars lately which were meant to be training. I hung in there because there’s no fast forward button only to find they were merely introductions to expensive training programs. I don’t like wasting my time like that and it doesn’t engender trust in the presenter.

$50 a month is so generous, Lesly.
